And as I mention in the post, there is discontent in China that is expressed through thousands of disturbances annually. My point is a different one: this large segment of China -- hundreds of millions of people -- seems pretty solidly in support of one-party government.Dan Littlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15953897221283103880noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4058766287077382431.post-35016603624269697182011-11-02T15:11:01.200-04:002011-11-02T15:11:01.200-04:00I was in Xi'an last year, I particularly like ...I was in Xi'an last year, I particularly like the "Muslim Quarter" - lots of good street food to be found.

On another note this guy from Kentucky with only a community college diploma works in China? In this post, you cite conversations with: "a very accomplished young historical guide"; "a university staff person"; and a"twenty-something professional." Even some of these people cite problems (the related issues of intense pressure on children and extreme inequality); people might seem more discontented about these problems if they were themselves among the hundreds of millions of the very poor.erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15459764573179565354noreply@blogger.com
