It is extremely costly and still there is more than 15% of the American population with no insurance coverage. Therefore, a reform is necessary. Unfortunately, I don't think Mr. Obama's policy is the right one as it seems to me that it helps the huge insurance companies, but not the people.
Take care,
Lornedisability insurancehttp://lsminsurance.ca/canadian/disability-insurancenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4058766287077382431.post-13884075287074275422009-10-21T16:58:02.179-04:002009-10-21T16:58:02.179-04:00I wish I knew the history public education. The kind of system seems, at this point, to be the primary issue. Are all to have access to the same kind of health care in all circumstances? Is this something the law should appropriately regulate (poor person X should have access to the same care afforded rich person Y, in all cases)? Can it even do so, with any efficiency?

"Basic" health care should be available to all. The government is not in a position to so regulate the quality of care as to assure that all will have the same quality health care.ciceronianushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10134836668562326081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4058766287077382431.post-74455808260723941692009-10-20T02:38:29.645-04:002009-10-20T02:38:29.645-04:00And that us why we have Medicaid, Medicare, specia...And that us why we have Medicaid, Medicare, special government funded children health insurance programs, Hospital Emergency rooms that cannot turn anyone away, clinics, etc.

The Food Stamp program works, so why will we not copy it and give medical vouchers to those who need them and cannot afford medical care?

The fight over the US government health reform is more a fight about who is in control of medicine than the issue of fairness or justice of medical care for those who cannot afford it.

Imagine what the food industry would be like, if you prepaid all you yearly meals by buying food insurance and on top of that, your employer paid for it and got a tax deduction.

The food industry also has administrative costs and makes a profit. Should the government go into the food industry and remove the administrative costs and profits in the name that food would be cheaper for those who cannot afford 'higher quality' food, such as steaks, fresh fish, etc?Milton Rechthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02488660316957122768noreply@blogger.com
